My Role

I worked with a cross-functional team that included a project manager, a team of developers and a content strategist. I was the sole designer for this project and was responsible for the entire design from conceptualization to the final high fidelity designs.

Problem Statement

Food delivery is a massive industry with a huge potential, however it’s usually difficult for food vendors to properly monitor orders, manage transactions and generally have a detailed breakdown of activities. The goal was to design a platform that is seamless, intuitive and easy for users to use.

I collaborated with my team to conduct user research, one-on-one interviews to establish pain points and possible ways these can be properly addressed.

The most exciting part of this project was exploring different design directions to ensure I arrive at a design that truly speaks to the target audience. Data gathered in the research phase greatly helped to influence why certain UI elements such as typography, color etc. were chosen to ensure the best user experience.

Questions that influenced my design strategy

Here are some important questions that influenced my design strategy:

• What’s the demography of the target audience?

• How do I ensure the design is scalable and can accommodate future business needs without breaking the existing structure?

• How do I design a platform that is clean, modern and aesthetically pleasing?

• What are competitors doing and how can this product stand out?
